Maths — No Problem! at Waipipi School
For the past five years, we’ve been using Maths — No Problem! at our school, and we’ve seen amazing growth in our students’ confidence and problem-solving skills. This programme is based on Singapore Maths, a proven approach that helps children truly understand maths rather than just memorising formulas.
What Makes Maths — No Problem! Special?
๐ข Step-by-Step Learning – Children start with hands-on activities, move to pictures, and then use numbers and symbols. This helps them build a solid understanding.
๐ง Problem-Solving Focus – Instead of just working through sums, students learn to think critically and solve real-world problems.
๐ Mastery Approach – We don’t rush! Each concept is fully explored before moving on, so children feel confident and secure in their learning.
How Has It Helped Our Students?
โ
More Confidence – Children feel capable and less afraid of tricky maths problems.
โ
Better Understanding – They grasp the ‘why’ behind maths, not just the ‘how.’
โ
Stronger Problem-Solving Skills – They can apply their learning in different situations, helping them in maths and beyond.
How Can Parents Help?
๐ก Ask your child how they solved a problem, rather than just checking if they got it right.
๐งฎ Encourage them to explain their thinking—this deepens their understanding.
๐ Remember, mistakes are part of learning! Encourage effort and perseverance.
We’re proud of the progress our students are making with Maths — No Problem! and look forward to continuing to build strong, confident mathematicians.
